International Womens Day

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

Today is Sunday March 8th 2009, and it is the International Womens Day. A great day to aknowledge all the great women in history and out there. Every woman is great in her own way, to me I would like to dedicate this day to the one and only –> My mom, She truly is the best in the world, and to me the bravest, calmest and most couragious woman that ever existed. Shes been through a lot, and yet still tries to remain calm and patient, looking after her family and of course her husband (my pops of course).

I was thinking hard the other day, about who could be the greatest woman in history, there could have been loads I could write about from Mother Teresa, Indira Ghandi to Princess Diana, but I don’t know them that well, and never even met them. So I thought I would look a little closer to home, and there was my mom sitting right in front of me, nobody has a clue how much pain she has had to go through, from her early years of marriage, to losing kids, grandkids, ilnesses and suffering a stroke, to not even being heard properly in life and lots of other things that would make some people think wow, shes a brave girl. My mom is the most honest and complete woman there could ever be in the world to me, she has taught me a lot of things even though where she grew up in India, there wasn’t even a school and in villages in those days they hardly sent the girls to be educated, yet she has the most simple logic and sense I have ever come across. My mom also has a lot of love to give for her family, shes the only one I have ever talked to and learned a lot from, we still walk hand in hand whenever we want to go for walkies, shes like a rock to me. Everyone always looks at us funnily because I’m a grown up adult, yet I’m probably the only one in my whole city who isn’t afraid of holding my moms or dads hand, to me its a sign of caring, something they have taught me, I always look around to see other people doing it, but in 26 years, I have’t come across anyone at all who holds their mothers hand anymore.

My mother hasn’t made a lot of money, sorted out a community, or changed the world, but she certainly has changed my world for me all my life, whenever I come across problems in life, she has always been there for me, and thats why I respect this woman more than any other woman that ever has existed, she is like a god to me, and I think everyone should dedicate this day to their mother, sister, aunty,… or who ever has been there for you when you really needed to talk to a woman about problems that nobody seems to understand. The woman is the producer of life, the earth in hindi is also named as maa, so every woman should be respected and treated good in life, no matter what they have or haven’t achieved, they are friends to everyone and deserve all the respect they could get from everybody everywhere. I’m glad that the world is finally giving the recognition they deserve, the only bad part about it was that its only been a hundred years or so since this day was established, it should have been a lot earlier, that way the woman would truly have known a lot earlier just how powerful she really was. A woman I always say, is far more powerful than a man, I’ve felt it first hand, and it truly is remarkable at how they have been created..
